Well, Clank, I've given this a lot of thought. When my oldest was born, who was the first grandson born on either side, we (the parents) called both grandparents grammy and pappy. And, when he was first learning to talk, he called my mother-in-law mam-mam and f-i-l pap-pap...and that's what stuck. So I'm thinking of just going by whatever he calls me. Although, I know someone who has her grandkids call her GM, and I kind of like that too.
my f-i-l insists on being called papaw by everyone now that he's got a grand daughter. the m-i-l hates it and it's interesting to see them fight about it. i don't really care as she'll call them whatever she wants to anyway, it's rather stupid to fight over.
my niece and nephew call my parents grandmom and grandad but call the other set mom and pop, which i always thought was cute.
